Tom Spector, PhD, is internationally regarded as a refreshingly effective meditation and healing teacher. He has generously agreed to share a meditation with the Rhine community to begin the new year. This meditation presentation is for everyone, even people who believed they could never meditate.
With meditation, your busy mind will become calmer and you will begin to experience your Inner Being and to see things with new clarity and insight. Healing, restoration of self-esteem and inner peace will follow. Tom will also share his experience of inspirational miracles and a recently revealed mantra many find comforting and empowering.
With over 40 years’ experience, his teachings are clear and easy to follow. They combine profound meaning with light humor. Many participants have life-transforming experiences.
Tom Spector, PhD, began meditating while in graduate school at Yale University in 1968. He realized he had low self-esteem and lots of anger, and was flunking out of an intense, specialized program. Meditation helped him immensely. He began to work out his deep-seated personal issues and rapidly became a star student, completing the full PhD program in record time.
In the 1970s, Tom passionately studied meditation and healing with Ram Dass. In 1976, after a magical meeting with Elizabeth Kubler-Ross at a Ram Dass meditation retreat, he started sharing the techniques that helped him so much. He continued meditating and teaching, even when he was the International Vice President for Cancer Research at Glaxo Wellcome (now GSK).
Tom teaches at many different venues, including yoga retreats, universities, hospitals, corporate firms, and other organizations. He also sees individual clients and regularly visits cancer patients at the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center. He’s a refreshingly effective meditation teacher and has a special gift for helping people discover the root of their suffering and establish their paths to heal, restore self-esteem and find inner peace.
Tom lives in North Carolina with his wife, JoAnna, who teaches yoga at their studio, Hatha House (www.hathahouse.com). His book, “Our Two Gardens: How to Cultivate Healing,” and “Meditation and Healing” CD are available on his website.
