WEST CALDWELL TWP. – The West Caldwell Public Library will offer virtual yoga and meditation classes on the Zoom online meeting platform at 2 p.m. Tuesdays beginning May 5.
The classes, with yoga instructor Aleksandra Mufceska, are only available to West Caldwell library cardholders.
Participants will learn yoga and meditation techniques to keep energized, calm, mindful and uplifted to the highest potential during the coronavirus pandemic.
Mufceska began practicing yoga at age 13 with yoga videos that soon became a daily ritual. In 2013, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training.
At age 19, she booked a solo flight to the Balkans, intending to share yoga with as many people as possible. She traveled through Macedonia, Serbia and Croatia, using Facebook to create yoga events on the beach, near local monasteries and on the roof of where she was staying.
Soon after that, she traveled to Cancun, Mexico, when she was spotted on the beach practicing yoga and offered the opportunity to teach at the resort at RIU Grande Caribe.
In 2017, she graduated from Montclair State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and associate’s degree in business administration.
Since then, she has worked as a journalist and opened an OM Private Meditation and Yoga Loft. She has published two poetry books, “Journey Within Your Soul” and “Seeds of the Sun,” and the journal “Trust Your Journey.”
She is in the process of completing her 300-hour advanced training at Jaipure Yoga Center.
